The behaviour you are after

A full engine everywhere. Very smooth. Always in control.

944tr/min

Idle set to 944, or kept at 850 rpm when that is the factory value.

1 500tr/min

Stronger torque from low revs, with a fuller and smoother build-up.

THROTTLEPrecision

Responsiveness restored and throttle response made more precise.

180km/h

Removal of the limiter on the models fitted with one.

Factory base preserved

Factory safeguards and emissions equipment kept.

PNP removes no factory safeguard and no original emissions function. The work happens inside the ECU tables, on the parameters agreed with you.

Software identity

The software number stays the Harley-Davidson one.

A factory update can overwrite the tune without changing the software identity of the motorcycle. PNP TUNE reapplies the tune free of charge as part of after-sales support; the installer may charge 30 minutes to 1 hour of labour.

Calibration warranty10 ans

Follow-up on PNP tunes. With Remote RTD4, going back to the setup saved before tuning is free and the customer does it themselves with their RTD4. An outside installer may charge 30 minutes to 1 hour of labour if they carry out the work.

08 / Understand before choosing

Harley-Davidson tuning: what really matters.

Engine calibration

Stage 1 does not come down to a single figure.

A coherent Harley-Davidson reflash starts from the ECU, the engine, the intake, the exhaust, the fuel and the intended use. The expected result must stay compatible with the actual mechanics of the motorcycle.

Model / year / engine / ECU

A name is not enough to choose.

The commercial name of a motorcycle or an engine is not enough. Model year, market, ECU and setup must be checked before a solution is announced.

Exhaust

The loudest exhaust is not the most powerful.

When torque and power are the goal, S&S Cycle, Bassani, Vance & Hines, Cobra and TAB Performance are generally better placed. Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde, KessTech, Penzl and Miller are chosen first for sound, finish and noise level — a decisive criterion in Germany.

Intake

A stage 1 filter does not make a stage 1.

Arlen Ness, S&S Cycle and K&N increase airflow. The engine only uses it if the tune follows: without remapping, the mixture leans out and the gain printed on the box never arrives.

Order of work

Four steps, in this order.

High-flow intake, a properly sized 2-into-1 exhaust, a matched tune, a dyno check before and after. To stay close to factory, Screamin’ Eagle at Harley-Davidson and Indian Motorcycle Performance at Indian.

HP Tuners / RTD4 / TDN

Remote is a process, not a file being sent.

The interface allows reading and flashing through a compatible procedure. TDN organises the exchanges, while PNP analyses, prepares and follows the calibration. Data logging can complete the process where relevant. HP Tuners coverage stays limited to the 2021–2024 models fitted with the Delphi MT21M and present in its official list.

09 / FAQ Harley-Davidson

Precise answers so you can choose straight away.

01Is the factory speed limiter removed?

Yes. Speed limiter removal is included in the Street Remote and Custom Remote tunes. A motorcycle limited to 180 km/h is unrestricted from the first level.

02Can I have my Harley tuned remotely?

Yes, when the exact model year and model appear in the official HP Tuners list. The RTD4 selector then gives direct access to the matching pack.

03How is the tune checked?

Data logging replaces the dyno. The data recorded on the motorcycle makes it possible to check its real behaviour and refine the Custom Remote tune.

04What is the difference between STREET and CUSTOM?

STREET REMOTE brings the best of our know-how to a Harley close to the factory setup. CUSTOM REMOTE is the data logging solution, with analysis of real data and dedicated adjustments.

05Can I go back to the pre-tuning setup?

Yes. With Remote RTD4, returning to the setup recorded before the tuning is free and the customer does it himself with his RTD4. If a third-party installer carries it out, that installer may charge 30 minutes to 1 hour of labour.

06What happens if I change my air filter?

A Screamin’ Eagle, S&S Cycle or equivalent intake kit changes the airflow and therefore the calibration requirements. Report any change of setup before riding with a tune that has not been validated for it.

07What happens if I change my exhaust?

A Vance & Hines, Bassani, S&S Cycle, Cobra, Trask Performance, Rinehart Racing, Khrome Werks, Freedom Performance, Two Brothers Racing, Zard, SP Concepts, Screamin’ Eagle or Jekill & Hyde system changes cylinder filling and acoustics: the tune has to follow. After a change, choose the Custom Remote option or ask PNP TUNE for a check directly.

08Can PNP analyse a data log?

Yes, when the chosen setup and procedure require it. Riding data can guide the analysis and any fine-tuning.

09How does HP Tuners Remote with RTD4 work?

The motorcycle is read with the matching interface, the data is synchronised through TDN, PNP prepares the calibration, then it comes back into the app for guided flashing.

10Is my recent Harley compatible?

Simply choose the model year + model entry that matches your Harley exactly in the RTD4 selector. If HP Tuners lists it, the PNP purchase link appears immediately.

11What if my Harley is not listed?

Send us an email at tune@pnptune.com with the model year and model of your Harley.

12Which Harley are in the PNP TUNE catalogue?

The PNP TUNE catalogue covers the Milwaukee-Eight (M8) 107, 114 and 117, the Twin Cam 103 and 110, the Sportster 883 and 1200, as well as the 750, 975 and 1250, from 2014 to 2024, when the motorcycle uses an HD CAN, HD CAN3 or MT21M Gen 1 ECU.

13What does PNP actually tune on these motorcycles?

Depending on the setup, PNP works in particular on torque from 1,500 rpm, on throttle responsiveness and precision, and on smooth, progressive engine delivery. Idle is set to 944 rpm or kept at 850 rpm when that is the factory value.

14Are the factory safeguards and the emissions equipment kept?

Yes. The factory safeguards and the original emissions functions are kept: PNP TUNE works inside the ECU tables, without disabling anything.

15What happens after a Harley-Davidson update?

A factory update can overwrite the PNP calibration. PNP TUNE reapplies the tune free of charge as part of after-sales support; the installer may charge 30 minutes to 1 hour of labour.

16How long are the tunes guaranteed?

For ten years, PNP TUNE provides free follow-up on the map, its restoration to the saved setup and support after a factory software change. The installer may charge 30 minutes to 1 hour of labour. This warranty covers the tune, not the mechanics of the motorcycle.

17Which motorcycles can PNP tune with HP Tuners?

With HP Tuners, PNP works only on certain 2021 to 2024 Harley-Davidson models fitted with the Delphi MT21M ECU and listed in the official HP Tuners list.

18Can I have my Harley tuned from another country?

Remote calibration is designed so that distance is not an obstacle. Final availability nevertheless depends on technical compatibility and on the conditions applicable in your country.

19I bought my RTD4 from another HP Tuners dealer: can I order a PNP TUNE tune on its own?

Yes. The Street Remote (250 €) or Custom Remote (530 €) tune can be bought on its own, HP Tuners credit pool included. Just give the RTD4 serial number (10 digits) and the motorcycle VIN: the tune is delivered through TDN, whatever dealer sold the interface.

20My Street Glide 114 has an open air filter and a Stage 1 exhaust: Street or Custom?

As soon as a motorcycle moves away from the factory setup, PNP TUNE recommends Custom Remote. You record a data log from a cold start, a normal ride up to temperature and then one full-load pull in 4th gear in an authorised setting; PNP adjusts fuel, ignition timing and transitions on your real data.

21Pan America 1250 or Sportster S: is the E5 cable mandatory?

Yes. Euro 5 Harley-Davidson connect to the RTD4 through the E5 cable with the red connector. It is included in the RTD4 E5 packs and sold on its own (55 €) for customers who already own the interface.

22How long does it take between the order and the flashing?

Once the motorcycle read is synchronised through TDN, PNP TUNE usually prepares the Street Remote tune within 24 to 48 working hours. For Custom Remote, allow a few extra days: each iteration depends on your data logs and their analysis.

23I am a workshop or a dealer: how can I offer PNP TUNE to my customers?

PNP TUNE works with professionals through the HP Tuners dealer network: the vehicle is read in the workshop with a professional interface, the files are exchanged through TDN and the tune comes from PNP. Write to tune@pnptune.com with your business name and country to receive the terms.

24My Harley is registered in France, Belgium or Switzerland: does that change the procedure?

No. The read, the file exchange and the flashing all happen remotely; the RTD4 pack is shipped within Europe. The factory safeguards and the original emissions equipment are kept.

25I ordered Street Remote: can I move up to Custom Remote later?

Yes. The Street to Custom Remote upgrade (333 €) keeps your RTD4, your cable and the HP Tuners credit pool already tied to the motorcycle; it adds the data logging protocol, the analysis of your recordings and step-by-step adjustments.
